Beschreibung: Edmond Dronsart was born on the 6th of July in Tournai, he died in Brussels on 20th february 1965. His career started in 1911 when he was secretary of the Conseil de Perfectionnement de l'Enseignement Technique du Hainaut. In the period 1915-1921 he worked for the French government as director of the Institut de Réeducation Professionelle des Mutilés de la Guerre in Montpellier. During that period he was also director of the Institut Régional en van het Centre de Réeducation et d'Appareillage du Service de Santé also in Montpellier. After the war he was active in different institutions dealing with public health and nursing. From 1923 he lectured at the Ecole universitaire d'Infirmières in Brussels. In october the president of the Belgian Red Cross dr. Antoine Depage asked him to take the function of general manager of the Belgian Red Cross. A function he continued until 1958, when he retired.
